Volume 21, Issue #37, September 27th, 2019
Zone 29, Major Gifts Officer Kevin Kelly left, accepts a Literary Angels book from Rotarian Linda Goldsmith.
PDG Barry Fraser had the honour of introducing our guest speaker. A fun fact about Kevin is that he is capable of 100 mile long cycling trips. He will be participating in the Tour de Tuscan. Kevin joined the Rotary Foundation in 2016 and is a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Northville. He was previously a District 6380 Rotarian with Mount Clemens.

Kevin works full time for the Foundation and spends about 25% of his time on the road. He had a very funny story about Canadian terminology and Barry Fraser.

More information about our guest speaker will presented in the next Sunriser, as I'm on a wee bit of a tight deadline with packing for St. Lucia.
A sign-up sheet for volunteers was circulated during Tuesday's meeting. Contact Roger McRae for more info. Roger states there's usually about 800 kids each of three days. Our club has been assigned the lunch tent. Although we have been assigned this position, volunteers are still required to attend from 9am-2pm.
This Saturday! President Kate did send out an e-mail on September 24th with further details about this social. At DG Sparky's suggestion, Jennifer & Barry White have invited 50 of their neighbours. We're not supposed to be aggressively promoting Rotary at this event.
Mark Peacock on the Water Summit:
Mark recommends watch Greta Thunberg videos, and attending the Clean Water for Living Summit. All of the area's Conservation Authority General Managers will be in attendance.

Happy Dollars

John Lawrence: Went to a concert this past weekend and saw Margaret Campbell & her partner Doug perform! John also thanked both of them for their hard work on developing the registration process for the Water Summit.

Roger McRae: Poor Roger & Gloria were stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours near the construction on the 401 westbound to London. They spent the weekend in St. Catharines where Roger's 7 year old grandson lectured them on the environment.

PDG & Guest Barry Fraser: He also ironically spent some time in the St. Catharines area this past weekend. He stayed with his brother & sister-in-law for the Rotary Zone Conference in Niagara Falls. There was 75 past district governors in attendance.

Mark Peacock won the 50/50 drawing his own ticket, and a joker!

Blake Vince: Although not in attendance this morning, Daniel Linter from Germany returned to Canada and was shooting footage at Blake's farm.
