A Classification Talk:
Margaret Schleier Stahl
"Dorothy, are we back in Kansas?!" With all this wind were experiencing today, I'd be surprised if my Chatham This Week flyers didn't blow all the way to Kansas. Hopefully everyone has a safe Sunday! After a two week break from Rotary (thank you Elsa from Disney's Frozen and the ice storm), it's good to be back with my Rotary family.
This week, I'm super excited to hear from the dynamic Margaret Schleier Stahl. My first introduction to her informally was through her bright red Liberal signs in the last provincial election, which match her personality perfectly. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she has been an asset to keeping my spirits up during my job hunt.
Margaret holds both a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor.
She currently works for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent as a trainer for clients on Social Assistance and has been with the Municipality for 27 years. She enjoys helping people find employment and move off social assistance. She states "The best part is empowering people to make better life choices".
Part of this can be seen in her desires to grow up to be a nurse (and she says not ruling it out even now).
In addition to learning the bagpipes (which she admits is way tougher than you think), Margaret enjoys running and working out every morning. She also loves reading, writing and painting furniture pieces. She even had an appearance on HGTV years ago!
We have Ken & Sue Bechard to thank for Margaret's introduction into our Rotary family. Apparently we do a lot of fun & interesting things ;)
