Happy Dollars

John Lawrence was happy to see his letter to the editor in The Rotarian. We have also attracted the attention of a German public television network much like our TVO, who are interested in our Clean Water for Living videos. A film producer will be visiting Chatham on July 2nd and 3rd.

Doug Goldsmith was thankful for the opportunity to be our faithful Sergeant-at-Arms.

Linda Goldsmith is happily saying goodbye to her hydrangeas, thanks to the Greening Your Grounds workshop.

Blake Vince is happy that while he was in England, that his family was able to finish planting. Blake also brought news of producers interested in filming in the Ontario-Ohio region of Lake Erie.

Sue Bechard announced that our Youth Exchange student Allison from Ecuador will be arriving on August 26th! Our beloved Nikola from Poland went home on Friday, June 21st. Nikola was thankful for a wonderful year in Canada.

Mary-Fran Kluka could hardly believe how many people were in her Boston Pizza during the Raptors' game and that she didn't have to call the police.

John Schinkel's number was drawn for the 50/50. He drew the Joker, and donated it back to ShelterBox.

Last Tuesday was President Kelley Robertson's last official meeting as president and we reminisced on the year it was. As a club, we continued the practice of finding financial efficiencies from Past President Roger McRae's year. We developed a policy to support Rotarians for fundraising initiatives, in addition to continuing to develop collaborative efforts with other clubs.

After the passing of former Rotarian Jim Steele, a shadow box was created to be ideally displayed at the funeral.

President Elect Kate do Forno brought greetings from the sector meeting and a personalized club banner from the Rachel Project.
Past President Roger McRae was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow pin, as tradition states. Roger is currently a PHF +3, which means his pin had 3 little blue stones on it.
New Rotarian Danielle Hunter was also presented with a Paul Harris Fellow, for her work on the weekly bulletin.
President-Elect Kate do Forno was presented with a stained glass Claddagh ring designed by President Kelley Robertson, in honour of "love, loyalty and friendship".
Below, District Governor Jane McManus applauds as District Governor Sparky Leonard receives the "Home Club of the District Governor" banner at his Meet the District Governor Night. And of our Past District Governor Audrey Chevalier holds onto the banner that our club hosted for one year.
Batter up Rotarians, as Sparky takes us out to the ball game. Join our American Rotarian family to the southwest as our beloved Jays take on the Tigers. Contact Sunrise Rotarian Doug Goldsmith for your seat on the bus if you wish to travel with other Rotarians across the border. Purchase your game ticket here
