DISTRICT   GOVERNOR   INDUCTION   CELEBRATION

On Friday, June 8, 2007, 240 people from Chatham Kent and Upper Michigan joined the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise  in celebration of the Induction of Audrey Chevalier as District Governor of Rotary International District 6380.

Thank you to Paul and Rosemarie Roy for allowing the club to host this event on their property. There could not have been a more beautiful and suitable location for such a wonderful event.

Thank you to all of the sponsors. Without their generous contribution, the success of the event would not have been possible. Thank you to the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, the Rotary Clubs of Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown, Dresden, Thamesville, Wallaceburg and Tilbury, and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Thank you to Express Copies and Printing for donating the programs and Kent County Chrysler for providing shuttling service before, during and after the event.

Special thanks to the Chatham Interact Club and their leader Jennifer McDougal for ensuring safe parking and providing directions for everyone to the tent.

Thank you as well to the CKSS Jazz Band for the entertainment before dinner. Their music showed the way to all our guests.

Many thanks to all the club members of the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise, their spouses, their partners, and friends for all the work they did before, during and after to make this event a success. No task in an event like this is too small to be left unrecognized. Without the work of many it just would not have worked. From the agenda, the program, getting the DJ, getting insurance, greetings, reception, getting the liquor license, running the bar, selling tickets, giving suggestions, watching for details, to setting up and tearing down. Plus many many many more things that had to be done before, during, and after. Each task is as important as the next to create a successful event. Thank you to the following people.

Blake Vince as Chairman of the event, co-ordinated this event and looked after numerous items including, but not excluding arranging for the tents, getting the liquor license, which was quite a feet in and of itself, the power, looking after the bar, set up and clean up.

Erica Hazzard and Jean Baker kicked off the whole event by designing and distributing the invitation for tonight’s event.

Jean Baker and her friends for all the decorations. Didn’t she do a fabulous job and hand to fight through wind and storm to make everything look wonderful.

Steve Sadler put together the wonderful audio visual presentation for the Canadian and American national anthems. Thank you Steve, it was truly inspiring.

Max Howell for the Agendas and arranging the speakers.

Roger McRae and Kent County Chrysler for the shuttle service.

Sheila Bateman, our club secretary. Did so many thing that can’t even be listed and are far beyond the requirements of a secretary.

Beth Walters, our treasurer, took care of the registrations and all associated things that accompanied that large task.

Ed Schiestel and Betty for greeting everyone at the gate.

Jackie Bray looking after reception.

John Lawrence for looking after the 50/50 draw.

James Mac Neil for the invocation.

Greg Davenport
Stephen Hook
Doug Swant
Michele Grezbien
Jim Nash
Harry Verhey
Steve Pickard
Jim Steele

Included in this list should also be their partners, spouses and friends.
If I have forgotten anyone, my apologies. Without a lot of help this evening would not have worked.

Once again congratulations to Audrey. You will be a great District Governor in a year that is truly special
