   Bonny is happy that it didn’t rain for the Rotary River Ride! There were 40 riders & $500 donated

   Jim N is happy that he shot a 51 @ golf on Monday……was he there?!.....& that it is really close to Ribfest now!

   Audrey is happy that the Exchange team is Here – thanks to all the Host Families – it has been amazing

                

                                                
 

Club Business:


Bonny thanked all the volunteers who helped on Saturday at the River Ride.  And Bedell's who sponsored the food supplies.

Ribfest volunteer slots are open – pls sign yourself up to get the shifts that you prefer www.chathamribfest.com

The Amateur BBQ competition details are posted there too – pls circulate amongst your friends.  There’s some great grills & at $250 Gift Certificate up for grabs!

Corporate luncheon & Games with Employers Edge is on the go – accepting registrations for teams 8-10 persons preferred.  Games like tug-of-war, ski races, obstacle courses will be there. Looking for dunk tank volunteersssssss….?

Billboards are up last week. 

CKWS will be a presenting sponsor on the Saturday night. Greg will be on stage sharing MC with the Rock.

Rotarians are asked to sign up for working the gates & asking for donations.

RYLA 2010:



Sheila introduced the students sponsored by our Club at RYLA this year.  A record 119 students attended in the events’ 25th Year.  Matt Bailey & Tanner Ellis are Gr 10 students at Ridgetown District High School while Meghan Gillespie, who is in Gr 11 at the same school attended for her 2nd year. All expressed their weekend as being a really great time with lots of learning about leadership with other kids from District 6380. Our Club also assisted in sending Emily Campbell of the Interact Club but Emily was unable to attend today.


 

Turkey Friendship Exchange:
 

       Audrey introduced the Team Leader who lead off with his team members’
                          biographies & Club Descriptions.  We welcomed:

Rtn Erdal Baylan of the Ddim Rotary Club

Rtn Deniz Baylan (Erdel’s wife), also to the Ddim Rotary Club

Rtn Yildiz Gurgun of the Ismir Alsamcak Rotary Club& her husband, Emin Reha Gurgan

Rtn Barbaros Kon of the Denizli Rotary Club

All are from District 2440 in Turkey.

   
   

They presented a PowerPoint of slides & video, depicting the great country of Turkey, its history of government, tourism & local attractions.

PDG Bob Baker expressed our gratitude to our guests for extending their hospitality to our outbound GSE to Turkey last year.  Barry mentioned that Chatham Rotarian Jana Green-Shouldice was able to meet them & share stories of her travels on that team.

 

 

Monday, the team visited in Chatham-Kent – RM Restoration, the new Capitol Theatre & Rondeau Provincial Park & Sinclair Bush where maple syrup is made.   They were fortunate to see a formation of Canadian geese, followed by an American Bald Eagle while at the Park.

         Thank you Audrey for all your efforts in organizing this tour!

As all members are aware, BINGO's are one of our best fund raisers and we need members to help out. The fellowship is a wonderful added bonus.  Please do your part to help by volunteering yourself during one or more of the following time frames.

You need to be there one hour and fifteen minutes before the start time.  Remember you are awarded 3 make-ups for a regular bingo and one midnight bingo equals 5 make-ups.
