A Message from the Ribfest Volunteer Committee: You are encouraged to register online to volunteer for Ribfest...it only takes a few minutes....we almost wanted to say if we didn't hear from you, you would just be plugged in for the entire weekend!!!! Please don’t make us mean that!!...as of right now, there have been no Rotarians sign up online.

<<  If you are registering and have your Smartserve, please give a copy of the Smartserve card to Robyn on Tuesday am  >>.

Thanks...

President Blake's Look Back:

Blake took us on a trip back through his Year as President, making special mention of:

Mark Jenkins & Matt Jenkins. Thank you both for your continued support, your hard work & perseverance. We cannot do Ribfest without you! Blake gave each a Gift Certificate for Lobsters at Sobeys – they might again, be tired of ribs & chicken soon

This year’s new project Pounds for Polio – John S, Kim Pierce & Gord Campbell all received personalized weigh scales – we couldn’t have done it without you! Special Mention to John Lawrence & his friends at the YMCA as the largest collector of donations.

  • Steve Sadler has given continued support to Blake for his Opening Message & the Sunriser website. Thank you Steve!, it can’t be done with out you! (also to Brian Sadler, Ivan Katzman and Sheila Bateman without whose help, it would not happen)

  • Thank you to Jackie Bray for working away, keeping the Bingo runners organized

  • Thank you to Greg & Jan Kett of initiating our Shelterbox project

  • Thank you to Bonny for tirelessly writing grant applications!

  • Kudo’s to the Mardi Gras Committee & Auction – a repeat improved year!
Thank you to Terra & her committee for the great Roses project. Special Mention to Paul who is already thinking about next year!

  • A big thank you to Jim, Blake’s mentor – Jim is such a great example of a Rotary Friend

  • Another big thank you to his family, Karen, Cora & Elliot for allowing Blake to be President.

  • There will be a $100 donation from the Club made to the Annual Program in honour of Jackie Bray, Matt Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Greg Kett, Terra Kitzul, John Lawrence, Jim Nash, Bonny Pigeon & Steve Sadler. Congratulations & Thank you!

Blake made two  presentations for Paul Harris recognitions.

Paul received a four stone pin. Paul, we thank you for being the Rotarian that you are. We value your input & your involvement so much.

Roger was honoured with his two stone pin, in recognition of his time as Blake’s side & straight arm, for his tireless shifts at the Door. What a great Sergeant-of-arms!

ADG Dave McGuire presented Blake with his outgoing gavel & Past President’s pin. He thanked Blake for his enthusiasm & for taking the time in his busy family’s schedule.

Not bad for a kid who lived around the corner!

Another year Ends:

I want to extend my sincere appreciation for everyone’s collective efforts during my year as President.  I know that our incoming President will do a stellar job leading our club.  Like I have continued to say during the last 12 months, we have many things to be proud of at Chatham Sunrise.  It has definitely been my favorite year as a Rotarian, and I thank each and every one of you for doing your part.  Please extend Doug the same courtesy to lead in the way he should see fit.  I look forward to seeing you all upon my return home from Europe.

All the Best,
Your Past President  Blake Vince
