Guest Speakers: |
|
Bonny
introduced our Program
ladies today – Chef Angie &
Manager Sue Williams, both
of the Active Lifestyle
Centre, the site of our
meeting today. A great
breakfast was enjoyed by a
record 32 Sunrisers at
today’s meeting! Angie
provided a display of all
the possibilities that she
can offer. The Centre also
features her skills at
lunches in the Bistro (10am
– 2pm) – everything is made
fresh daily.
Sue
talked about the facility -
The Bistro area, where we
sat, fits 40 people while
the large auditorium (where
we were for Mardi Gras) fits
280. The entire building is
fully licensed & accessible.
The Centre has 900 members,
averaging about 185 people
in & out during the day. A
membership is $35 a year –
well worth all that comes
with it – card making, line
dancing, exercise classes,
foot care & on & on. They
target ages 50+ where 11% of
their Membership is 90+.
Audio
equipment, drop down
screens, TV & DVD player &
folding partitions for the
larger room is available.
The
Centre opens daily 8am & has
evening programs, running
for the “Junior Seniors”,
who are still at work but
eligible.
Ivan offered our Thank You
to Sue & Angie, for opening
their doors to us with such
welcome today. A book was
signed for the Literary
Angels program. |

Thought of the Day: |
|
Friendship was the
foundation rock on which
Rotary was built and
tolerance is the element
which holds it together.
There is enough atomic
energy in every Rotary Club
to blow it into a thousand
bits were it not for the
spirit of tolerance.
