Welcome from President Blake!

President Blake called on Chairs for upcoming fundraisers:

Roses for Rotary
Mar 2 will be the Club Launch & Media Day.   April 7 will be the delivery date, with the Roses arriving at the Hall on the 6th, later in the afternoon. Terra welcomes Heather Sarson, Chantal Perry & Suzanne’s help on this committee. We’re hoping to get past previous year’s 1400 dz target.  Colours will be red & mixed (sunrise colours)

 

 

Mardi Gras
Tickets are available, $45 each & tables of 8 from Bonny. John is collecting the auction items.   Menu is Cajun fare.     Targeting 120 people this year. Hosted at the Active Living Centre., Feb 12.

 

Ruth spoke about the plans for the upcoming Biosand Water Project trip to the Dominican.  Kim Peirce is going too,  along with 70 others from the District, heading to the Port au Plata area. They will also be visiting orphanages & schools (including 2 for the deaf). Donations of clothing, school supplies & cash to buy school supplies will be gratefully accepted by Ruth or Kim. Please give to them prior to their Feb 5 departure.

 

 

 

Greg & Jan Kett have challenged the Club for the Haitian Relief efforts.  If every member gave $10 for every one living at home……Donations will be gathered by the Ketts (receipts are available) & forwarded as one cheque to the Relief.  Bonny spoke about the Shelter boxes efforts to help Haiti, as well. Date is Friday Jan 22.

  

Co-Chairs Matt & Mark led the next part of the evening, talking specifically to the Ribfest. The following committees are in place & need the Membership to sign up to help,

Vendors – already have 5 teams of Ribbers & will be taking one 1 more team. 

Rotary Committee – Audrey – responsible for Rotary information, entrance & gate workers   

Public Safety – Kim Pierce &  Gord Campbell – responsible for liaison of the Club to the Police & security. 

Kids Zone – Tammy Chouinard – looking for a Rotarian to help here! 

Finance – Jackie & Sheila 

Food & Beverages – Greg Kett with Bill D, John S & Jean Baker.  There will be no Rotary Food booth, concentrating our volunteers’ efforts elsewhere.

Entertainment – Bonny & Jim & Ivan.  All locals from last year have indicated that they wish to return.  Tony’s One Stop will bid.

 

Sponsorship, Advertising & Marketing – Paul Roy with Michele G & Suzanne. Targeting Feb 1 to have the Sponsorship brochure finalized.  Balckburn Radio is on board already. Steve P will be doing the website.  Ashley’s on to Facebook & Twitter!

 

 

Volunteers – Terra, Heather Sarson & Michele G.   400 persons were organized last year! Working on their Website signup.  

Site Services & Setup – Harry V.  A proposed map but not approved yet was posted.

 

VIP Tent for Sponsors.

Will be requesting hours’ extension for the Entertainment & Bar will both end at 11pm.

Will be requesting Family Hours’ approval with fencing changes, to accommodate the minors after hours.

Admission is free, Donations accepted.

BINGO: 


As all members are aware, BINGO's are one of our best fund raisers and we need members to help out. The fellowship is a wonderful added bonus.  Please do your part to help by volunteering yourself during one or more of the following time frames.

JANUARY 23         - (Saturday) 7:00pm                    -    Jackie is looking for bingo workers

FEBRUARY 21      - (Sunday)   6:00pm                     -

You need to be there one hour and fifteen minutes before the start time. Remember you are awarded 3 make-ups for a regular bingo and one midnight bingo equals 5 make-ups.
