   In Memory of Heather Bondy

A Celebration of Heather Bondy’s Life was held last Saturday.

Heather was a passionate volunteer and a contributing member to the community.  She was a recipient of the award for Women of  Excellence, a Paul Harris Fellow and the founder of the Out Reach for Hunger Foundation. As well, Heather lead an aid to Zaire mission, and helped build schools and medical clinics in the Dominican Republic and Uganda.

Heather’s Mission in Life was to support those less fortunate.

“I keep my eye on the vision, on the dream. I surround myself with people I trust and share my dream. If you see a need. Go for it! Try to do something about it. It is surprising how easily things can be accomplished.”

“Everyone should have a dream. When I die, I am going out with a smile on my face because I made some dreams come true.”

Heather, March 2002

In Heather’s honour, if Members wish, then please bring to next week’s Meeting, a donation in goods or a cheque to be delivered to either the Outreach for Hunger food bank or the Polio Relief efforts.  (Make cheques payable to Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise & we will ensure delivery after the Meeting.)

Guest Speaker - President Blake Vince   "My Year Envisioned"

Thought for Today:

Tomorrow, when polio is eradicated! What will be our focus? Will we sit idly by & take a breath & rest on our accomplishments? Or will we take up the torch on another crusade, that will circle the planet & have an ever greater impact?

Rotarian Blake Vince, November 3, 2009
