Guest Speaker - Caitlin
Vicary: |
|

Greg
Kett introduced Caitlin as
our Club’s outbound exchange
to Japan for 2008 09 Rotary
year.

Caitlin
has just returned July 10,
still with many happy
memories. Her stay was in a
town Ageo, about 1 hour
North of Tokyo, about 4
times the size of Chatham.
She stayed with 5 host
families & had different
experiences with each one of
them. Lots of sightseeing,
zoo visits, Disneyland,
Chinatown in Japan, Mt Fuji,
hot springs, ski trips (a
Canadian who hasn’t skied in
her own country – imagine!),
& lots of traditional
Japanese foods.
Her
Rotary Club kept her quite
active with monthly
orientation meetings,
presentations & trips with
other students too. Members
of her own family were
fortunate to visit during
her stay & were treated
quite royally!
Caitlin
returned with many memories
of her best parts of the
year – her school friends &
her Host Families. You can
read some of her email msg
reports on the Sunriser
link http://www.rotarysunrise.com/community.shtml

Sheila
thanked Caitlin for her
visit today – her
presentation was excellent &
you could tell that she
really enjoyed her time in
Japan. We wish Caitlin all
the best as she moves on in
her life, returning to
finish school at CKSS in
Chatham.
