Guest Speaker: Dan Donaldson - Capitol Theatre

Jim Steele introduced our speaker, Dan Donaldson today.   Jim’s been working with the Theatre since 1998, and notes that with Dan’s arrival, there is a new shining light & a new direction with the Capitol Group.   Dan hails from the Milton area & is a Member of the Downtown Chatham Club.

Dan showed a brief pictorial of the Theatre in recent months, using photos by Klaus Anderson.  Photos will be bound in a book, for sale, upon completion.    Last fall the 3rd Floor Lobby was begun showing, till now with the entire auditorium floor up to the stage & Orchestra Pit being accessible.   Intrepid General begins pile driving next week for the beginnings for the Fly Tower.

Dan mentions that today is the planned launch date of their new site   www.chathamcapitoltheatre.com    Check it out to keep apprised of the ongoing construction.

Dan is well aware of the controversy that circulates about the community & he welcomes the opportunity to meets groups likes us, to speak out & get things straight for all to know.   The Theatre will create jobs, will create new business & will add value.   It even opens a new range of opportunities in partnering with the Kiwanis Theatre people. Many examples were named on how live performances, with creativity & art make a positive imprint on people.

Ivan thanked Dan for his visit today, offering a Literary Angels book, “The Best Book To Read” in Dan’s honour.
