Ivan is happy to be off to the sunny south-Florida next week.

 

 

 

                      Audrey was happy to attend the 2 Rotary events in the District.

 

 

Paul Roy was happy that history was in the making with the inauguration of President Obama

 

 

          Father Roy is looking forward to visiting Ecuador and Peru for 2 weeks.
    He  previously spent time working in Peru.

 Correspondence:


Heather Bondy thanked Rotarian’s for their support  and the donation to Rotary International in memory of her husband.

Mariah Myers ( Rotary Exchange student outbound) sent a letter of thanks to the club. She will be leaving for Brazil in the near future.

Kim Pierce sent a letter of thanks to Jim and Laurie for hosting the Christmas in January Party!

Audrey Chevalier had the honour of presenting Jim Steele with his third Paul Harris pin. Congratulations Jim from your fellow Rotarians. This pin has special jewels!

 

Club Assembly:

 

Program Updates- programs are scheduled till the end of March. Thank you to Paula for a great job.

Elections: Roger McCrae reported next years Board of Directors has been elected. Linda Goldsmith is a new addition to the Board.

GSE: Kim Pierce gave an update on the application and selection process for the GSE team.  The GSE team will be heading to Japn in October 2009.

Education and Training: Jim Steele and Audrey Chevalier shared ideas on how to enhance  members knowledge of Rotary. These will be forwarded to the Board.

Membership: Blake Vince reminded members of our goal to recruit 10 new members. To date we have added 3 new members.

BABIES AND BOOKS:  Bonny highlighted success of the Program. Rotary members are asked to attend International Learning Day on January 27th 7:30 for our next rotary meeting.

Bingo: Jackie Bray passed around new Bingo Schedule.

Revenue and Expense statements were also available for members to review.

Mardi Gras: Doug Swant updated the members on plans for Mardi Gras on Feb. 20. The jazz band Blutonium will be playing.

Roses for Rotary: Terra Kitzul gave an update for Roses for Rotary on April 1st. The group are still in process of securing suppliers.

RIBFEST:  Co-Chairs Mark & Matt posted a park layout and explained what they are asking for with regards to approval from the Municipality, as they move in the process of licensing.

Target age group  30-55 yrs old.

Areas for beer tent, Rotary food vendors, crafters & the 2nd food vendors (fries, ice cream, etc).

 

Seeking the entire area to be licensed, circled by 6 ft fencing & accessible for 2 points of entry.

Not to be promoted as a Rock concert but as a Family Fun day.

Sunday’s plans include a Classic Car show on William between Murray and Stanley streets.

Saturday’s sponsor is in the works yet.
