From Heather Bondy whose
husband suffered a massive
stroke:
Hi Steve,
Please pass along to the
members that I'm still in
Windsor with Allen who is
still in ICU which is
beginning 3 weeks. Tomorrow
(Wed) I'm meeting with a
team of doctors to decide
where to go from here.
I'll not be back to Rotary
meetings anytime soon but
please know that I
appreciate the website for
Sunrise.

Guest Speakers: - Chris
Falconer |
|
Chris
Falconer was our guest
today, introduced by Jim
Steele. He’s currently
the Systems Operations
Manager & oversees the gas
transmission at Dawn &
across Ontario Pipeline.
Chris ably explained to us
the distribution of the gas
from the storage pools
around Dawn, as it goes to
Lobo, Bright, Mississauga &
including up near Hagar
(Sudbury area). There are
155 billion cubic feet of
gas in storage pools,
underground within a 35 mile
radius of the Dawn plant.
That’s a huge area.
He
included a geographic
pictorial of how the gas is
formed & stored.
Fortunately they’ve never
had a “close call” but are
properly prepared if there
is one. The site is
manned & monitored with a
minimum for 2-3 workers
24/7. Detectors are
everywhere. He showed
photos of a high expansion
foam unit & how it works.
No one enters the area
unless they are walked in
with a Dawn employee. The
area is fenced & security
works whenever construction
is underway.

Jim
thanked Chris for his talk
today. A book was signed
for the Literary Angels in
Chris’ honour.
