Guest Speakers: - Jana
Green |
|
Kim
introduced Jana, our speaker
today. Jana was the sole
Canadian representative on
the GSE outbound to Turkey
in spring, 2008. She’s
currently working in the
Economic Development office
in Chatham-Kent with
Entrepreneurs, living in
London, recently inducted to
the Rotary Club of Chatham &
newly engaged!

Jana brought her enthusiasm
today, as she does everyday
& with everything that she’s
involved with. Her slides &
her comments displayed the
wonderful opportunities
offered by Rotary
International & the GSE
program. Turkey welcomed
them with open arms & hugs &
food (lots of food!) She
visited places that perhaps
the average tourist might
not see. Most often they
were accompanied by
professional tour guides who
were Rotarians or friends of
Rotarians.

Through their vocational
visits, they visited
automotive factories, a
hand-blown glass factory
(employed men only), a
wooden boat factory, a food
processing plant (employed
women only) & many
bazaars. The people were
warm, amazing & super
welcoming.
Jana highly recommends for
anyone considering a visit
here, don’t rule it out.
Not to be missed.
Bonny
thanked Jana, for bringing
her enthusiasm to Rotary &
this GSE team. A book for
the Literary Angels program
will be given to the Library
in Jana’s name.

Audrey mentioned that this
whole team, lead by Rotarian
Mark Farlow, with the
exception of one member,
have become Rotarians in
their home communities.
Jana emphasized her
membership is because of all
that Rotary has done for the
world.

Thought
for the Day: |
|
“If a big fat guy dressed in
red, drops by & tries to put
you in a sack – don’t worry
– I asked Santa to bring
friendship this year."
