GUEST SPEAKER - Wendy Badder - Make a Wish Foundation

Jim Nash introduced Wendy Badder from Make a Wish Foundation

Wendy Badder shared handouts and informed the group on how the foundation works.

It started in Phoenix Arizona over 25 years ago and the number of chapters has grown.

The foundation grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. The goal is to bring hope and joy.

Their mission is to grant wishes to create hope and happiness for children with life threatening illnesses.

Children up to the age of 17 can be referred by a friend , family or physician.

The group relies on various fundraising initiatives as well as personal donations.

Wendy has 2 children both with serious illnesses. She experienced first hand how the foundation works. Her son wanted to be King for a Day. The family went to Bermuda where they were treated ROYALLY. Wendy handed out pamphlets to the group.

Jackie Bray thanked Wendy and a book was donated in her name as part of the Literary Angels.
