Good morning Greetings from
President Bonny!
Today may we appreciate this food and remember those
who are hungry.
May we appreciate our family and friends and
remember those who are alone.
May we appreciate our health and remember those who
are sick.
May we appreciate the freedoms we have and remember
those suffer injustice and tyranny. Peace on earth.

Bonny's Bit O
Humour: |
|
A young woman was taking an
afternoon nap. After she
woke up, she told her
husband, “I just dreamed
that you gave me a pearl
necklace for Valentine’s
Day. What do you think it
means?”
“You’ll
know tonight,” he said.
That
evening, the man came home
with a small package and
gave it to his wife.
Delighted, she opened it –
only to find a book entitled
“The Meaning of Dreams”.

Guest Speaker - Ralph
Pugliese on Wind Turbine
Energy |
|
Harry introduced today’s
topic on wind turbines.
Harry’s represents many with
the same concerns:
-
The ethanol plant is 260
ft high. These giants
are 400 ft high.

-
There needs to be proper
setbacks for these
towers. We cannot
follow the provincial
minimum standards, given
the natural settings of
our Municipality.
-
How do these turbines
affect property values,
really?
-
New construction of new
homes will not happen in
the area of these
turbines.
-
New citizens will not
come where there’s a
turbine.
It’s important that the
municipality has the best
interests of the community
in mind, not of the
developers.
Michele
G introduced Ralph Pugliese,
Director of Planning for
Municipality of Chatham
Kent.

Ralph
explained the steps that are
processed, as turbines
applications are received.
Chatham Kent does have a
robust wind energy
resource. And the Official
Plan does encourage the
development of wind as an
alternative energy source.
Several
steps were explained up to
the point that the
Municipality is currently
at. Last night’s Council
Meeting had 160 interested
persons attend.
Lengthy
discussion of questions
followed the meeting.
Harry
thanked Ralph for his
explanation of the position
of the Municipality today.
A book will be presented to
the Library’s Literary
Angels program, in honour of
Ralph’s visit.
