Bonny's Christmas
Message: |
|
Thank
you to everyone for their
contribution to the Club.
When
preparing for today, I
thought of a few people I
would like to extend a
special thank you to, for
helping make the past 6
months as President
successful. But I did not
know where to stop or where
to end. Each member
contributes in some way to
make this Club work as a
great Rotary Club. From
greetings to setting up the
meeting room, to organizing
the program, to working with
the Exchange Students and
the Interact Club, to
helping with the various
committees, to writing thank
you notes and extending best
wishers, to doing the web
site or working with the
Environment activities, to
writing the newsletter, to
ensuring that we comply with
RI rules. Each one of us has
an important job to make
this Club work and everyone
contributes in his or her
way to make this Club a
success.
Thank
you to each one of you. Have
a very Merry Christmas and I
wish all of you the Best in
the New Year.

The Christmas Program: |
|
We
joined in carols, notably
accompanied by Father Roy.
We sing so much better when
there’s a key!

Santa joined us with a
couple elves for a quick
visit today.

Elf-ess
Lotti shared how Christmas
is celebrated in Germany.

Master Elf Wesley celebrates
for 7 days in
Taiwan – he really likes
their tradition of
circulating red envelopes to
collect cash!

Daniel,
also spoke for a moment of
his trip here, of his
hosting of Dane earlier this
year. Banners were
exchanged & the Club
received a whipcracker from
Daniel, a country wide
champion of the skill. Too
bad, the room was so small
-- we couldn’t have a
demonstration.
Laurie
& Jim were recognized for
their hosting of the
Christmas party at their
home on Saturday. Thank
you for your sharing of the
true spirit of Rotary.
Door
prizes drawn today – Gloria,
Jim S, Father Roy & Santa.

Thought
for the Day: |
|
Christmas….that magic
blanket that wraps itself
about us, that something so
intangible that is is like a
fragrance. It may weave a
spell of nostalgia.
Christmas may be a day of
feasting, or of prayer, but
always it will be a day of
remembrance – a day in which
we think of everyone and
everyone we have ever loved.
